This is fascinating. “Many parents collect the This is fascinating.

“Many parents collect their kids’ baby teeth as keepsakes when they fall out. But imagine doing it to help determine if the child has experienced emotional trauma that could lead to bigger problems later on.

In a study published Tuesday, researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital argue that microscopic markings within children’s teeth could be a novel tool for detecting trauma. Early treatment, many doctors say, can head off health problems related to emotional wounds, especially mental health issues.

Adverse childhood experiences, such as abuse, witnessing violence, and parental drug addiction or divorce can produce toxic stress and change a child’s brain development, scientists say. Traumatic incidents are linked to chronic health problems, including heart disease, and mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, later in life.”

“To all my fellow white women saying they will b “To all my fellow white women saying they will boycott celebrating the 4th this year because “freedom doesn’t apply to everyone in this country,” you really need to take a moment to ask yourself why you were celebrating it before, because uh…. that’s not a new development.

To be clear, I’m not disagreeing with boycotting. (I haven’t celebrated the 4th in years.)

The issue is treating the fall of Roe like it’s the first time a group of people were second class citizens in this country.

It’s just the first time YOU were part of the out group.”

“On [October 24th] in 1975, 90 percent of Icelan “On [October 24th] in 1975, 90 percent of Icelandic women walked off their jobs and out of their households, taking to the streets to demand equal rights with men. They refused to do any work, whether in the workplace or in the home - leaving everything from answering phones in receptions to childcare to the men. The country effectively shut down as men struggled to cope. Radio announcers read news bulletins with the sound of children playing in the background. Pylsur (Icelandic hot dogs) sold out in the entire country as men scrambled to feed themselves and their kids. Institutions were effectively paralyzed.

While this did not change things for Icelandic women overnight, some monumental events followed. Five years later, Iceland had the first democratically-elected female president in the world. Eight years later, a women's-only party, the Women's Alliance, won its first seats in parliament. And so on.

Still, even though Iceland is consistently high on the gender equality list, it is no feminist utopia, as the media would often suggest. There is still much to be done. And yet. We've come a long way. ✊”

It really is about violent misogyny and control. I It really is about violent misogyny and control. If “pro-lifers” could see the number of misogynistic hateful disgusting comments I’ve banned from men today, they’d know the issue isn’t about saving lives — it’s about controlling women.

“A truck driver careened into a group of demonstrators in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday as they crossed the street during an otherwise peaceful protest of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The unidentified male driver of a Ford truck rammed into several protesters — all of them women — at the tail end of a procession, rolling over one woman’s ankle and sending her to the hospital, witnesses said.

“He tried to murder them,” said a local journalist and witness to the attack, Lyz Lenz. “These women see him coming and a bunch of people put their hands out to stop him. And he just keeps going.”

People still treat kids like crap for being kids, for having brains that are not fully developed yet, for not having emotional regulation or impulse control. Children deserve dignity just like anyone else.
